I’ve seen two dardenne films prior to this, rosetta and the son. Rosetta I saw a while back, didn’t really like it then, but I need to revisit it. The son has this kind of dragging feeling to it, but the ending makes the experience worth it.

Of the three films of theirs that I’ve seen, this has held my attention the most, and I like it the most. when you think of a dardenne film, you dont really think of characters that fart on screen.

Some difficult moments here, simply because you naturally worry about the child’s well-being. At times it appears as a less than ordinary film, but it works out in the end. The end, really, is the most powerful moment of the film. and a powerful moment in cinema.
