I first saw a hal Hartley film probably 18 months ago. Henry Fool has the funniest vomit seen ever put to film, and the ending of HF is just straight up beautiful. Overall it’s a great film, and after seeing it, I was determined to continue to explore his work.
I don’t know why I’ve stalled to watch this, but I’ve finally gotten around to amateur. We’re told that the title to amateur is an acronym to the different themes in the film. The R stands for redemption, and that’s probably the greatest trait of this film. I love this film. |
