At times it can be slow, but never too long, as it always picks up. All in all, this is a fun film. Just watching to see when and how grant would catch the thief. I was never expecting the thief to be who it was.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
I was actually expecting kelly to be the thief, because she was the “least expected”. but that would be too obvious.
END SPOILER END SPOILER END SPOILER

That costume at the end….not exactly PC to say the least. Definitely not by today’s standards.

this is a really charming date movie. anyways, the film is really fun because of the chemistry between cary grant and grace kelly, which makes it light and casual. some of my fave moments in the film are when grant keeps fending off kelly’s accusations of him being the cat… nice parallel to the police hunting him while kelly makes him her prey to become her husband. the flirting and innuendos are terrific in the film. the wardrobe and location shooting are wonderful as well. gotta say though that there is no tension/suspense/or thrill considering this is a hitchcock film.

you're right, its not very hitchcockian in that respect.

my favorite scene is where grant is talking to that other girl, and kelly comes up, and you can just see the jealousy that they have over grant.
