while the film doesnt suffer from over the top perfomances and over scoring as other films from that era, im not won over by it. i was bordering on boredom here. but my interest was held just enough. i do love the way he ties it all up at the end with, as shrader puts it, the famous last line of the film. and of course, it is fascinating to see them at work.  but for the most part, i dot like it. im not into these kind of films really.

however, like i said, it kept my interest and thats why i think if this was shorter than it already is, maybe i would have liked it more. im sure bresson's fans out there will disagree with me and im completely missing the point. anyway, i was more interested in the relationship between michel and jeanne than anything else in the film, which explains why i love the ending.

other bresson films ive seen are diary of a country priest (which moved me) and mouchette (which bored me).
