ok, so i'm a sucker for love stories. this is an ok film, but the first part or half or whatever was really bad, but there's a point where it picks up and, although not perfect, it works good enough. some really moving parts, and i think it begins when she's on the swing set. there's another scene where one of the patients die, and i think that was the best part of the film (but by no means was it perfect, but i think they had the right idea, i would say that the direction in that scene did not make it as powerful as could have been, or perhaps it was the cinematography). and i also thought the part where he visits her, and she's like "you're my painkiller", was, you know, moving. perhaps over the top, but like i said, im a sucker.
but those three scenes had the potential to just be so powerful, and while they don't really get to that point, they're pretty good any way
i don't think i'll ever watch this film as a whole again, but i'm sure at some point i'll go back to watch those three scenes |
